This past weekend was a busy one. We started off Saturday morning with homemade whole wheat strawberry, banana, chocolate chip muffins. They were a big hit both kids loved them. They each gobbled up a whole one.
It was rainy and yucky outside so we met my sister in-law and my nephew at the mall. The kids played at Borders and in the play area in the food court. Hailey was obsessed with the car and Ryan ran around like a mad man squealing with joy.We ate some lunch and then walked and did a little window shopping. Ryan was so pooped he fell asleep in the car, unfortunately Hailey didn't nap at all so that means I got nothing done around the house, but that is ok the kids had alot of fun which is all that really matters.
That evening we were supposed to go to a bbq at a friends house but Shawn got out of work really late so we didn't go since it is quite a drive to their house. We decided to take the park to play on the playground. The day started out gloomy but by the evening it was beautiful out. They had a great time at the playground and then we went for a walk on the nature trail and fed the fish and turtles at the pond. Hailey would throw in a cracker and hen call the turtles. Ryan was content to eat the crackers so there was no fish feeding for him.
Sunday morning I took the kids for a long walk down the dirt road near our house. There are several horse farms down there and both kids love getting to see all the horses. Hailey has to go up to the fence and say "hi horsey" to each and every one we saw. Lucky for me the walk did the trick and both kids napped together so I was able to get a ton done around the house, including cleaning out the disaster in the closet.
That evening we went to my sister and brother in-laws for dinner. It is so nice to have family around especially while the kids are little, they play so well together. The kids played and had a great time, Hailey didn't want to leave. I wish that more of our weekends were like this!
